Import / Export - Immex Operations

 The IMMEX program (formerly known as the Maquiladora program) is a government program in Mexico that allows companies to temporarily import goods, materials, and equipment without paying import duties or taxes, as long as they are used in manufacturing or processing operations for export.

To use the IMMEX program to import raw materials and export finished products from Mexico, a company must first register with the Mexican government and obtain an IMMEX authorization. This authorization is granted by the Ministry of Economy and is valid for four years, with the possibility of renewal.  This authorization is a time consuming, lengthy and expensive process without any guarantee of authorization.
